    '2028AD'
    Standalone story
    The common cyborg

This is a short stand-alone sci-fi story from my near future book universe 2028AD. You can read it as is, a short near future sci-fi story, served in a perfectly delicious coffee break bite size to entertain and brighten your day. Or you can read it as a slice of time picked straight out of the bigger story that is the shared book universe 2028AD.

It is however, capable of standing on its own exactly as it is, but like life itself, it is also just one little photon that connects to all the others swimming in the one vast ocean together with each other :). Giving meaning and context, life and transforming movement and energy through its own ripples. And perhaps one day you will find out that this little snippet is very much a meaningful part of the bigger story that is waiting to unravel. And perhaps this story will reappear again, with a beginning and a continuation.

  • Book: 'Mommas little boy' A real life bed time story caught inbetween the meeting of a brown bear family and a little boy. By Mike Koontz.

    Kid Friendly

Short story ( One Evening Bed time read)
This is one of the many short stories that people tell each other countless of times in various of ways.
And like some of those fictional stories, this one also happens to be based on actual every day event that took place in Sweden, the summer of 1850.

Like many other such events, real or imaginary, it might change a tiny bit with each generation re telling it in their very own way (this particular event was for instance once made famous as a Swedish children's song, 'Mors lilla Olle', by Alice Tegner, as well as a poem by Wilhelm von Braun).
But at its core I am sure its every iteration remain quite faithful towards what actually happened that summers day when the little boy named Olle befriended a wild Brown Bear and her two little cubs deep inside that old Swedish forest.

Enjoy this tale that sprung forth the untamed home of Norse Vikings.

A classic released early 1900 that takes us all on a wonderful journey amongst the magical kingdom of animals. A wind that blows soft and gentle through the fields of willows where the badger walks with his friends, the water rat and the mole.

But not all is well and peaceful. There is the wicked weasels that makes life a little bit less enjoyable then it should be for our animal friends.

A passing ship takes him aboard, and a man named Montgomery revives him. The ship is however merely transporting a number of animals to an island where gruesome experiments will be carried out on them. As they arrive at the island, the captain demands that Prendick too leave the ship with Montgomery.

  • Book: 'Russet witch' is a mature story with elements of both the supernatural, and the sensuous secrets spoken only between lovers. It was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Suitable for a mature audience. 17+ and up. Adult storytelling and events.
    UHD book reading video TBA
    Long read Book (Weekend)
Another story from Scott Fitzgerald which, in his telltale disillusioned way shows us a life and relation not fully lived and enjoyed. But inside his bleak view of people, love, and life, you can also touch upon a grain of wisdom in that every person alive needs to choose their own way through life. To live a life that they love, to follow their heart, embrace their needs and pleasures and to do it, their very own way. Life doesn't come in repeat, so enjoy it fully and go where you want to go. And understand, and accept with a smile that the same free will and need for fulfillment, applies to everybody else too. And that is the heart of this incarnation of "Russet Witch"

'Russet Witch' in this alternate take, adapted by Mike Koontz follows the life and choices of Merlin and his wife, their kids and his real love in life, the beautifully alive and open minded 'russet witch'.

Populated by people of flesh and blood walking inside of their own equally beautiful, yet disturbing worlds and little lives which on the surface often smell and look and behave just like our own everyday reality.
Wings of a raven is painted upon a canvas of the imaginary, the grounded reality of science and modern day life just as much as the fantastical bestiary that dwells just beyond what our eyes normally can see.
Delivered with a touch of horror, and sensual and sultry naughty love. Life and death, Science, and life mixing with the pagan realms and the horrifying unnatural.

  • Book: 'The Kalevala', Rune 1 to 4. A fictional Norse Adventure, shrouded in a veil of fog and ancient northern pagan times.

Suitable for all ages, Teens and up
    UHD book reading video TBA
    Long read Book (Days)
The origin of the first authors and thus the very first words and ways of the Finnish epic Kalevala remain unknown in todays world. Shrouded in a veil of fog and ancient northern pagan times, words shaping this story that herald from when we northerners walked the Earth as Vikings, Norse men and Scandinavians long before any Nordic man and woman where ever known to the world as Vikings or in any way laid claim to any Christian values in any way shape and form.

What you are about to set out on is a journey through an epic Finnish tale woven in parts of Beowulf, part Iliad, ballads and poems, but all Nordic heritage, thousands of years in the making through Nordic myths, lives and stories, real blood and history entwined with fiction of the most fantastical kind.

The origins are unknown since this tale like so many other aspects of past Nordic days and history was passed down oraly instead of in written form.
But beyond the countless of Nordic story tellers that´s all been a part of shaping, living and telling this story, there´s also a long range of more modern day authors and scholars from other nations that could at least in part be credited for the work and inspiration behind this particular English adaptation. Keep in mind however, that Christian scholars used to be very fond of changing the Norse pagans history and stories, facts and lore, and religion to make it feel and sound either like a christian tale or a historical fact when it was in reality heavilly distorted.

So if you read something in the Kalevala that feels in any way like a reference to the Christian heaven and myths of that time, that is a sad historical distortion
Scandinavian society and its various tribes during the time of Kalevala and Beowulf had no Christian prejudice and shortcomings in its daily views on gods, sex, rights and gender equality.

    Plastic litter, a prescient story.
Anthropocene is the science & art of life on Planet Earth

At some point in life, you might discover yourself having walked far enough outside the map that plots the discourse of the common life that society expects all to follow beyond their birth, and at this point of discovery, this is where you might realize that you can cut out all the distractions of the buzzy bees, and the perceived connotations of what people stubbornly claims to be "just how it is", all while they seemingly refuse to see how things actually are.

And once you do, the void of white noise and people without words of meaning to express, all the colors and moving shapes from all the non-essential patches that weaves together to raise a banner of hollowness will start to dissipate.

We have the ever present and immense pollution and poverty. The inequality that seems almost steeped in the seams of its old and rich history.
And almost always guided and directed towards the poor, and more than anything females.
You also have something even worse, related but different. And this sordid face of the underbelly of the rapidly changing but still traditional Indian society is best represented by a road that could be described as the road to hell on Earth.

It slowly happens over time, you know, by the hands of natural evolution and life itself, it happens through every second of every day that ticks us by. From the way the earth turns, and the soil grows, the way that water and wind erode things over the course of eternity.
It happens through the tunnels that ants and termites build and the way that sand polish stone.
The way we walk and swim, build and leave behind things, the water that carves its own changing path through the rocky cold mountains that run through our entire planet. It is seen in the roots of the trees that refuse to die after 10 000 years and slowly crack the ground open.

'The Musk colony' as it was informally called could right now be thought of as a real but still very challenged success simply because the fleet had actually managed to reach their destination and somewhat to his own surprise, the entire fleet was still operational, bruised but functional.
And considering how space travel and logistics had been prone to so many errors in the decades leading up to their unparalleled launch, the fact that they were all here, it was nothing but amazing. Taken for granted by the crew, by now at least, but still nothing but amazing.

And while it was true, that they still had not actually put any human feet on the ground. Or even landed a single ship or UAV.
    We had reached our destination.

They came marching in at dawn, shoulder to shoulder they formed long winding columns of wordless but well-armed soldiers in gleaming dark armor that stretched as long as the eye could see. 500 men passed us by with the rising sun painting the light of this new day behind their backs. But this would not be a day of peaceful tranquility under the light of the rising sun, instead, the sun rose up from beneath the horizon as the herald of war and death in what we all knew would turn out be just another day in their relentless campaign.
